Ok, I try to be reserve on 5 stars but why not, the food was fantastic, service was great, and beautiful place inside. Our waitress Jennifer was very friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was relatively quite with classic rock playing. Somewhat unemployed at the time so didn't go all our on steaks but my wife's whiskey medallion was tender and delicious. My county fried chicken had good breading and thicker meat (not smashed flat like some places) the not country gravy was good. We mixed up the sides and had whipped potatoes, scalloped potatoes, green beans, and gouda corn; also all very good. Of course finished it off with gooey butter cake with bourbon peaches. SWEET and tasty. I would certainly recommend for a date night.

Hereford House is truly a Kansas City staple. The food is consistently prepared and flavorful. I ordered the prime rib medium-rare; it arrived closer to medium than rare. While I did eat it, I mentioned the temperature to the server so she was aware. They also didn't offer me a side of au jus, which was disappointing. They were offering lobster tails at a very reasonable market price, and we shared one—it was excellent. The service was personable and attentive throughout the evening. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with low lighting and a moderate noise level that creates a comfortable, upscale ambiance. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience. Next time, if the prime rib is not cooked rare as requested, I will send it back.

Gathered here for a cousins lunch. There were 7 of us and we reserved their small private dining room It was quite so conversation was possible. The waitstaff were attentive. The food was great and everyone said theirs was delicious. The price was very good for a luncheon. We throughly enjoyed ourselves and will return again.

We unexpectedly stayed overnight in KC while traveling for the holiday and stopped here for drinks and dessert with our kids. The bread pudding, carrot cake and gooey butter cake were fantastic! The atmosphere was lovely and our service was great (thanks, Chris!). I took 1 star off because our drinks were super heavy pours which wasn’t great. Otherwise, we will absolutely be back!

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Hereford House for their Thanksgiving lunch special, and it was nothing short of spectacular—easily earning a solid 5 stars from me! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with festive decorations that made it feel like a cozy family gathering, but with the luxury of not having to cook or clean up. The star of the show was their prime rib: juicy, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to a flawless medium-rare with that melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. It was carved right at the table, and each bite was bursting with rich, savory flavors that paired beautifully with the horseradish cream on the side. Then there was the turkey—moist and flavorful, not a hint of dryness, roasted with herbs that gave it a homey, comforting taste. And don’t get me started on the mashed potatoes! Creamy, buttery perfection with just the right amount of garlic and a smooth texture that made them irresistible. They were piled high and served piping hot, the ideal complement to the meats. The portions were generous, the service was attentive and friendly, and the overall value was unbeatable for a holiday meal. If you’re looking for a stress-free Thanksgiving feast that feels indulgent yet traditional, Hereford House nails it. I’ll definitely be back next year—highly recommend!
